Backgrounds

Here are some backgrounds created for Disney Fairies storybooks. Sometimes I had the freedom to invent an environment from scratch. When working on stories inspired by the movies, however, the backgrounds must be based on film references, even when what you are drawing doesn't exist in the movie. For example Peri's and Zarina's rooms had to be invented, and the dust mill here on the left was assembled from bits and pieces seen in the film. All artwork has been hand drawn (black Prismacolor® on marker paper) and then scanned into the computer. Some shadows are added or enhanced digitally.
